Revision

Today we revised some of what we have learned so far. We practiced the weather by playing flashcard games and revised the time with games on the whiteboard.

Try listening to this and see if you can understand the rhyme at the end. Try downloading it to your MP3 player and practice listening and repeating what they are saying.

How did you get on?

It was hard wasn't it! I got Madame Levens to translate it for us and this is what they mean:

There are 3 different poems...

1. talks about who's happy in different types of weather - when it's raining and wet, the frogs are partying, when it's nice and windy the kites are partying

2. is about everyone heading for shelter (l'abri) when the rain falls, except my little brother who's out fishing so the whole house can have fish

3. is perhaps more of an old wives tale along the lines of 'when the cows are lying down...' Here it's snails, when they show their horns it's going to be nice weather -

escargot de bourgogne, montre-moi tes cornes, dis-moi si demain il fera beau.
